Animals

I love all animals, wild and tame.
How some are treated is a shame.
Most, though, have it really good.
Enjoying life, like they should.
Warm homes, that they enjoy.
Meals, treats, and lots of toys.
Lots of love, hugs, and attention.
So many things I could mention.
They give back, what they get.
Payback, is a loving, loyal, pet.
More than one, is just more joy.
Lot's of love for us, oh boy.

Cathy

You're my sister, and you're special to me.
I see things in you, that others don't see.
There are deep, hidden things, inside you.
Things that don't always shine through.
I see the glow, that special light.
It opens my eyes and gives me sight.
Sight into your soul, mysterious and deep.
A soul quiet, sad, lonely and sweet.
You're kind, capable and willing to please.
You make it look easy, like it's a breeze.
But I know you girl, I know you well.
Oh the stories your soul could tell.
As you go through life, carrying your pain,
your friend and sister I shall remain.
If I could could carry some part for you,
I,d take it now, that's what I'd do.
You wear your smile, you wear it well.
Most people, can't even tell.
The things I know, are for me to know.
Just remember, I love you so.

A Devastating Night

It was a devastating night, filled with fright.
It was cold and bitter, they stood and shivered.
The flames blazed high, into the night sky.
Where is Kevin? There's six, where's seven?
Go back inside, it would require; there's a fire.
Wake up Kevin. Get out!, was the shout.
No shoes, no shirt, but you're not hurt.
Your belongings are gone, you have no home.
It's cold and raw, you've lost it all.
In shock and sad, you feel so bad.
Recovery is slow, where do you go?
You were on your feet, life was sweet.
Now you're broke, it all went up in smoke.

My Daughter

My daughter is so dear to me.
I hope she knows and can see
That my feelings for her are strong.
Even though she's sometimes wrong.
I know her faults, I know her flaws.
But that doesn't give me a cause,
to not love her from my heart.
From this love I will not part.
Of this thing she can be sure.
I'll help her to cope and endure.
Life is hard and trying, too.
I'll be there to help her through.
I love her dearly, to the end.
My daughter, my gift, my friend.

MY Granddaughter Bridgette

My grandchild, what can I say?
A precious new gift every day.
Always an enjoyable pleasure.
A lovely gift, that I treasure.
Hugs, kisses, and smiles, too.
Without her, What would I do?
An empty, lonely, silent house.
I no longer am with a spouse.
Then, my door opens wide.
My grandchild steps inside.
Arms stretched out for a hug.
An embrace, warm and snug.
She smiles, and I just shine.
I'm so glad that she's mine.

Anew

It's a beautiful day.
Things are going my way.
It's sunny and bright.
Things are alright.
I feel good inside.
I've nothing to hide.
My concience is clean.
Know what I mean?
I've got a clean slate.
I'm feeling really great.
I'm starting anew.
And I'm happy, too.
